A place. A gesture. A material. A memory. Sometimes a chapter belongs to one culture. Sometimes it exists between two. Maison Dustur translates what it discovers into something new.

Our first chapter draws from the mineral architecture of the medina and the discipline of contemporary tailoring — a tension between heritage and restraint.

A chapter can begin in Marrakech. Another in Kyoto.
One may emerge from a dialogue between Tangier and Lisbon. Another from two traditions that were never meant to meet.
Maison Dustur is interested in what happens between them.
A code is not a place.
A Dustur is a way of doing things with intention. It can live in a gesture, a material, a proportion or a craft — and travel beyond borders. What matters is not where a code began, but what happens when someone carries it forward.
